Indira Sagar Project / Borar River Aqueduct System
We have undertaken this one-of-its-kind irrigation project Narmada Valley Development Authority, Bhopal (M.P). It involves construction of Irrigation Canal passing through highly undulated terrain and in the process negotiates hills and valleys. To achieve this alignment of the main canal comprises of many Aqueducts & CM & CD works. One major Aqueduct, i.e. Borar Aqueduct is spanning for a length of 650 meters over 27 no. of piers of a maximum height of 46 meters long pier. The diameter of the piers is ranging from 3.6 to 2.7 meters. The discharge of water through this aqueduct is 48.654 Cumecs. The top slab of the trough has been designed for IRC class ‘A’ loading to facilitate movement of heavy vehicles over this Aqueduct. At the downstream of this Aqueduct the canal alignment enters into the Tunnel of 6.0m dia.
