Indira Sagar Project / Borar River Aqueduct System
We have undertaken this one-of-its-kind irrigation project Narmada Valley Development Authority, Bhopal (M.P). It involves construction of Irrigation Canal passing through highly undulated terrain and in the process negotiates hills and valleys. To achieve this alignment of the main canal comprises of many Aqueducts & CM & CD works. One major Aqueduct, i.e. Borar Aqueduct is spanning for a length of 650 meters over 27 no. of piers of a maximum height of 46 meters long pier. The diameter of the piers is ranging from 3.6 to 2.7 meters. The discharge of water through this aqueduct is 48.654 Cumecs. The top slab of the trough has been designed for IRC class ‘A’ loading to facilitate movement of heavy vehicles over this Aqueduct. At the downstream of this Aqueduct the canal alignment enters into the Tunnel of 6.0m dia.
Built on the Godavari River, this challenging project involves setting up of a six stage pumping system of 505 metre head, laying of pipelines stretching over a length of more than 118 kms and construction of a 185 km canal distribution network.
The irrigation scheme irrigates 2 lakh acres of ayacut in the upland area of Karimnagar district in Andhra Pradesh. Main works included supply, installation and commissioning of pumping machinery, transformers, sub-stations, pressure mains including construction of pump house all civil structures to supply 12 TMC of water to the Karimnagar district.
